Roof boiler-house — an independent source of heating, intended for heating and providing hot water supply to residential and industrial premises. The roof boiler has received its name because of its location: it is erected on the roof of the building in a specially equipped room, and the heat station can be located either in the roofed boiler room or in the basement of the consumer building, as well as on the ground or ground floors .
Traditionally, roof boiler houses are of two types:
Stationary roof boiler houses are erected mainly at the time of construction of the main building, from materials similar to those used in construction.
Block-modular roof boiler rooms are purchased for the finished building. The block-modular boiler-house is manufactured and assembled from the supplier company and transported to the place of installation and commissioning in the ready-made form. Its connection to the heating systems takes an extremely short time.
General provisions for roof boiler.
Roof boiler houses are traditionally used in the case of a deficit of urban heat capacity, in new areas or in separate buildings, which, for whatever reason or at the personal choice of tenants, it is impossible to build a main line to the heating plant. They are designed to provide consumers with uninterrupted, safe and economical heat and hot water supply and work without the involvement of additional staff.
Only organizations with appropriate licenses and approvals can design and build roof boiler houses.

For roof boiler rooms it is recommended to use heat generators with water coolant, temperature up to 95 ° C and pressure up to 1.0 MPa, with full automation.
The room in which the boilers are located must be not less than 2.65 m, the width — not less than 1 m, the height of the passage — not less than 2.2 m.
Exit from the boiler room should be carried out directly on the roof of the facility.
Roof boilers can not be used for heating and providing hot water supply to schools and kindergartens, sanatoriums and medical institutions, crowded public institutions, fire hazardous industrial premises.
Designing and erection of a roofed boiler house on a building whose height exceeds 26.5 m, or 10 floors, must additionally be coordinated with the Russian Interior Ministry fire service.

Advantages and disadvantages of roof boiler rooms.
Among the advantages of roof boiler houses are ease of operation, low heat losses, no need to build additional buildings for heating purposes, the ability to fully automate the system, and keep it active all year round, bypassing the time-consuming stages of stopping and starting the boiler house. Roof boiler room — a relatively inexpensive and effective solution, which allows you to save on installation jobs and additional employees.
Most of the shortcomings and limitations of roof boiler rooms are specified in the SNiPs: this is a restriction on the weight of equipment, a restriction on the installation of roof boiler houses for heating certain types of facilities, the need to comply with the requirements for gas safety, as well as the need to install complex systems of automation and fire control.
